In 1906 a young mother, Hanna, wants nothing more than to free herself from her bourgeois role and her social limitations. She flees to the Monte Verità sanatorium, where, surrounded by the idyllic nature of the Ticino canton and dedicating herself courageously body and soul to art, she is faced with a painful decision. Will she be able to return to her family without giving up on herself?
